Elon Musk decided to speak out after a report surfaced that he had informed X (formerly Twitter) employees that the company is “barely able” to stay afloat.

“Our user growth is stagnant, revenue is unimpressive, and we are barely [managing to] stay afloat,” Musk reportedly said in an email to the site’s team, according to a report from The Wall Street Journal.
Another part of the message said: “In recent months, we have witnessed X’s power in shaping conversations and national outcomes… We are also seeing other platforms begin to adopt our commitment to freedom of expression and impartial truth.”
However, the businessman went to his X profile to refute the news. “This report is false. I sent no such email. Wall Street Journal is lying,” Musk posted in response to the X profile Daily News.
The world’s richest man completed the acquisition of the platform formerly known as Twitter in October 2022. Rumors suggest that banks are preparing to sell billions of dollars in debts borrowed by X.
